Again, no need to get to a pool store if a Walmart, or hardware store is near by. Even a grocery store will have bleach.

im gonna go to the dollar store..how many gallons do you think i should start out with?

no i dont have any stabilizer i would have to go to a pool store to get that...my nearest walmart is 20-25 minutes away and i currently dont drive due to meds im on
We normally wouldn't suggest this, but do you have any chlorine pucks (trichlor) or chlorine powder that is dichlor? They both add cya, albeit slowly...it would be better than nothing.

The sun is going to remove the FC almost as fast as you can put it in. If you can not get stabilizer, make sure to add the bleach when the sun is not on the pool (like near sunset). IT will be slow going until you have the CYA in and a test kit to help maintain the correct FC level.
Linen brings up a good alternative ... if dichlor or trichlor are available at a store you can get to.

Big box stores, Walmart, Pool stores, Ace hardware, etc all have stabilizer. A neighbor might even have a part of a jug around that they haven't used. You only need a pound and a half right now.

No, it'll be harder but go ahead and start adding the bleach as soon as he gets back with it.

1 Gallon will raise your FC by 11-12. I would suggest just 1 gallon at a time slowly poured in front of a return. What FC testing ability do you have?
The cover would help protect the FC, but the sun actually helps to break down the CC. Might be worth putting the cover on until you get the stabilizer in the pool.

ok my friend and my son are gonna run to get the stuff i need to get this going today!!!
Have them get:
-stabilizer/conditioner
-lots of bleach
-bottle of muriatic acid to lower pH
That should be about all you need to get going. Any other adjustments can be made after the pool is clear and you have a good test kit.

Back from Store.. My friend is here with her Taylor test kit what sshould my FC targt be for shock.. I have everythign now that is needed and my friend is going to try to test my pool daily til my kit comes in.
Until you have CYA in the pool, shock level is 10ppm ... see Chlorine CYA Chart
After the CYA is added and dissolved, assume you are at the target level until you can measure it (about a week before it shows up on the test).
Why don't you post up a full set of results before you start. At a minimum you need to check the pH before the shock process as the pH test is not valid for FC > 10 ppm

She did all the testing needed ..and i forgot to bring out a piece of paper to writ e everything down..we did use the pool calculator too. But the only thing missing for me is my test kit which should be here in the next few days...
We put in a stabilizer, muratic acid, and and liquid chlorinator. if i missed anything she will update lol....my mind is a little on overload lately.

Don't put the cover on until tomorrow or the next day. Looks like you have everything going the right direction.
