I have a very similar build in mind/going on right now. This is my first attempt at this pool thing (24x52 agp intex), and I've gained some great ideas from all the posts here. I was wondering what type of ladder you have here and where you found it? Thanks for sharing your pics.

I love your setup btw.. We are looking at getting a 18x48 pool this summer and would like to install a deck as well. How big is your deck? and what are the concrete things that are holding the 4x4's up? I have never seen them before but that would save digging holes
We are thinking a 10x12 deck but yours looks like a great size.

thanks for the comments! the deck is about 16ft wide and 10ft deep. we made it the width of the 16x48 pool. its great for the kids to jump off into the pool and just barely enough room for the 10ft slide. its also nice to have in that the kids keep their feet clean when entering the pool without touching the ground, and leaves enough room for table and chairs for the adults while leaving enough for the kids to play around. however i'm already thinking about next year as the grandkids are getting bigger and want a bigger pool. but for now its just right for them. but i will probably enlarge the deck to match the bigger pool. BTW the concrete blocks are called dek-blocks. they provide the foundation for the post without digging holes. they work great! you can get them at lowes or home depot.

how much room (deck) did you allow for the slide? I'm thinking of building a section of deck just for a slide but not sure how much room to allow for. Thanks.
the deck was built with no plans. we just kinda freelanced it. as far as the room for the slide we measured the difference from the pool edge to the end of the slide including about a foot overhang over the pool. then we raised the slide up to the angle that we felt would be safe but also gave the kids a good fast slide into the pool. it came to about 8ft actual room for the slide but we had to figure in the space needed for some steps up to the top of the slide and the platform for the slide to mount to it. it took all the room to the back of the deck as you can see from the pics but it came out just right!
also want to give a big thanks to mark(crookm11) for all of his insight and help on alot of the ideas that i have incorporated into my pool setup. hats off to you mark!

Such a great set up! I am so worried about trying to cut my liner to add a skimmer and convert to "regular" fittings so I can connect a regular pump (so I can have enough power for a heater). Aside from wanting to ask what you'd charge to come modify my pool (really!), I've got to ask . . . Is your neighbor seen across the fence a fellow BBBer?

YES the neighbor is a fellow BBBer! he has had that pool for 4-5 years. he does fine with it!

BTW put in that skimmer, YOU WILL NOT LOOK BACK!
