Intex - Patch In or Patch Out

I have a 15ft Intex metal frame pool - original vinyl liner

Today I found a pin sized hole about 1 1/2 inches below the bottom seam on the bottom layer of the liner (the part that sits on the ground)

I had a hard time finding the answer to this question:

Should I apply the patch on the outside or the inside of the liner? I can easily get to either side as the pool is not filled.

Since u have access I would do both. Like a sandwich

Thank you. I have the included patch repair kit that came with the pool. It has a peel and stick patch that would fit. It has adhesive already on it (I presume since it’s a peel and stick). Can I use that or do I need to go to a local store and get something stronger?

I would get a pool patch kit from the store with the adhesive in a tube. like this

There should be swatches of liner that came with your pool - use the adhesive with those if u have them as they are thicker.

I would do inside, two patches, 2nd one larger than 1st. Use water pressure to your advantage.

Liner is now a patch sandwich. One on the outside and one on the inside. Leak = no more

(fingers and toes crossed!!!)

If you start to notice the edges of the patch on the inside lifting over time due to vacuuming & whatnot you can cut another larger circular patch & put it on top.
