Hi Guys!
A new client of mine (pool service) has the RC2343PT 4 Function Air Switch with Timer that isn't working right. It looks like this:

Observations:
- The air switch is at the ledge of the spa and its tube goes all the way into the air switch and timer switch enclosure picture above.
- The air switch button DOES work as it should, turning on/off the pumps
- The timer clock moves and the trippers do move/trip the manual switch but it has no effect on turning on/off the pumps
Now... the client tells me that the timer was working one day it was no longer working the next day after a storm. So she thinks that a power surge may have broken it.
I looked behind the timer mechanism and it looks like there's 3 main components:
1. The timer mechanism (contains the clock and the manual timer switch which the trippers act upon). That looks like this:

2. a component to which the air tube from the air switch is connected to
3. a 3rd component which appears to be the 4 function switch itself which is what I think both the timer-switch and air-switch act upon. It has a silver cylindrical button on the side which when pressed has the same effect as manually pressing the spa-side air switch (it turns pump on/off).
So, since the air switch correctly functions and advances the 4 function switch as expected, while the timer switch does NOT have any effect on the 4 function switch, my guess is that the timer switch went bad after the lightning storm.
If all of these assumptions are true, would you replace the entire 4 Function Switch with Timer ($200+) or do you think it' worth trying to just replace the timer switch and clock mechanism ($35)?
Any help you guys can give me would be VERY MUCH appreciated!
Thanks, John
