IntelliValve Control

Hello. I currently have the Pentair IntelliConnect system. It does everything I need it to do- really just pump and heater control.

I want to add an IntelliValve to control the one water feature that I have on the pool. It is currently plumbed to a standard 3-way Jandy valve and needs to be manually operated. I am told by Pentair that the IntelliValve is not compatible with the IntelliConnect.

Worst case scenario, I will stick to the manual valve, but I wanted to see if anyone has any ideas on other ways I can control the IntellIValve. Is there any type of 3rd party device that can accomplish this separate from my IntelliConnect? I can get 24V power to it, but I can't figure out how to control it to open to different positions. I found a lot of WiFi and z-wave controllers online, both of which I can use via my smartphone, but I don't know if any will accomplish what I am trying to do.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to TFP.

Why not use a standard Jandy actuator.

No one has got the Intellivalve to work, other then as a standard valve, not even Pentair.

My IntelliValves work with my Intellicenter. You set the stop points for 1 of the 13 settings and the actuator will move between those 2 settings just like a regular actuator.

What is not yet functional is being able to adjust the stop points from your phone. When the figure it out, that will be really helpful for things like bubblers where you may want it at 20% open and be able to switch to 60% open, then back to 40%.

Sorry, thats why I shouldnt post before I've had my coffee.

Can the IntelliConnect control any actuators? If so, I would just use a standard actuator instead of spending the extra $ on IntelliValve.

B,

I don't believe that the IntelliConnect has the ability to directly control any actuator..

What are you currently using the two relays inside the IntelliConnect for right now???

Thanks,

Jim R.
