Intellitouch i9+3 and Expansion Center i10x not working properly 520949 receiver

Same on the front and back. 16.42ish
I'm sorry, I must not be explaining something correctly... I didn't intend for you to measure the voltage on the front and back

Your voltage seems fine at 16ish. I'd like you to flip the card over and tell me what the "firmware version number" is on the back - there should be a sticker saying something like "Version: 20??0". is there no sticker on yours?

ok cool, good to know yours has firmware 2040. a replacement card with 2040 firmware will work but a 2030 firmware card may also work as well

at this point we know the antenna cable is good (since you replaced it) but that the antenna isn't working...
- have you checked to make sure the cable connecting the i9+3 comm port to the i10x expansion is good?
- if you unplug the antenna serial adapter from the comm port, are you able to go into service mode on the i9+3 and/or the i10x expansion?

I can go into service mode on the i9+3 no problem. That panel has never been the issue. Only the i10x expansion panel seems to not be working. I cannot switch it to service mode and it doesn’t appear to properly connect with the i-Link home automation adapter as we can no longer control it from our crestron panels in the house. I unplugged the antenna adapter to see if I could put the expansion panel into service mode and it did not work either. I checked the voltage between the two panels it seems fine, I think the wires are ok. Could a failed antenna cause all of these issues or is there a deeper issue?

The failed antenna is probably a symptom rather than a cause... it's sounding to me like you may have had a surge/storm event that could have blown up the comm chips on your service panel.

have you tried unplugging the serial adapter? I see that you unplugged the antenna and couldn't get into service mode but I didn't see any mention of unplugging the serial unit?

and have you checked the cable between the i9+3 and i10x?

What is the serial adapter?

@koltontaylor the serial adaptor is the i-link

@Jim, the antenna's power led would usually still be on, bit I think his antenna is dead since the voltage regulators on it are getting hot. The led would not light if the comm chips on the i10x failed short because they'd pull down the voltage on the port, but he got 16ish which is in the normal range.

It seems to me like the i10x main board can't talk to the i9+3 main board, so it's either broken or something is interfering with the comms... That could be a bad cable between the i9+3 and i10x (this should be tested now), or any other device connected to the comm port (the antenna or serial adapter -: which is why they should be temporarily removed). Kolton mentioned they get lots of surges... Those could have taken out the antenna and the main board.

Sure go for it, but disconnect the comm cable between the main and expansion... (This will remove the expansion board from the comm port/rs485 bus)

Then see if you can control anything with the crestron devices (I believe that what you said the i-link was for?)
