Intelliflo VSF Pump Not Running

Hello!

We just noticed our pump stop yesterday. It seems to be a power issue, but all other equipment is working. We're seeing "NO COMM!" on the easy touch screen at the breaker panel when going into the settings for the pump. The pump horse power seems to be running (it's making noise) but the pump isn't pumping water through. We're fairly new to having a pool so we're not sure what to do. We have contacted our pool people but they won't be here until tomorrow or later. Wanted to just check here if there is stuff we can do to diagnose any issues to save them a trip.

It's an IntelliFlo VSF pump and a salt water pool that is about 1 year old if that helps. Thank you!

V,

Well, for sure that wire did not burn up by itself.

It could be something simple like the connection could have been bad, causing resistance, which would act like a heater and get hotter and hotter. If that is true, a new wire and cleaning things up would work.

It could also be that the control head on the IntelliFlo went bad and drew so much current that it burned the wire.

Since this is a new pool, your best bet is to let Pentair and your pool builder cover it under warranty.

You should open the EasyTouch and shut off the circuit breaker for the pump.

Thanks,

Jim R.
