Hi everyone. Hoping to get a little feedback here. I'm going to be getting a heat pump for my pool an automation controller, and converting to salt. I was quoted for a Pentair ic40 from my contractor but after doing some research, I see they are going obsolete and replaced with the plus models. The other issue is I was quoted for the full intellicenter but Im starting to think thats overkill, as I'm only going to be running my pool pump and heat pump. But if I go with the lite, then I would need a separate "power" panel or something for the salt? Should I wait for the new Intellichlor plus to come bundled with a controller or settle for the ic40? Any advice appreciated, thanks!

Welcome to TFP.

The only difference between the IntelliCenter and the IntelliCenter Lite is the Lite does not have the Load Center cabinet for your circuit breakers. You need a circuit breaker sub panel for your pool and it is best to have it integrated with the IntelliCenter cabinet.

Get the full IntelliCenter panel with the "old" IC40. When you use up that cell you replace it with the new Plus cell.
