So just confirming, when wiring in a Pentair VS pump the HV circuit does not go through the relay labelled "filter pump", it is wired directly to the breaker and then the communication cable from the com port in the Intellicenter to the pump controls it correct?

Correct..
Single speed pumps would be wired to the load side of the Pump/Filter relay.
VS pump get constant AC power and the Pump/Filter relay is not involved at all, wiring wise.
