Intellicenter Wiring

Finally got power to the new pool pad and wiring the Intellicenter. Three questions:

1. The Control Panel Transformer gets wired to it's own dedicated 120/240 CB? Correct?
2. Any reason to go 240 on the main transformer vs 110?
3. On an older thread I see in the first picture a thicker copper wire coming up into the panel and connected to the ground bar.
Help with intellicenter wiring
Is there any bonding that needs to connect inside the panel vs the lugs on the outside?

The bonding wire is connected outside the panel

The electrical ground wire coming from the main circuit breaker panel gets connected to the inside ground bus bar

You can wire the System for 120 VAC or 240 VAC. Whatever works best for you.

I like to have the system transformer on its own breaker, but it is not a requirement.

Having the IntelliCenter transformer power on a dedicated non-GFCI 110V power ensures that no other device can trip the breaker and shutdown the system.

And having the dedicated breaker makes it easy to shutdown the panel before making any wiring changes on the board.

@Jimrahbe - I recall reading on another thread that the pump should be wired to the line side of the relay which is what I did. Seems that the pump is always running by wiring it that way - should it be on the load side instead? I have a single speed Superpump

With a single-speed pump you want the relay to control turning the pump on and off, so yes, your pump needs to be on the load side of the relay.

Having a IntelliCenter with a single speed pump is like having a race car with a lawnmower engine. :mrgreen: Very odd..

SS pumps should be connected to the LOAD side of the filter/pump relay.

VS pumps should be connected to the LINE side of the filter/pump relay.

Someday when you replace your SS Superpump with a VS pump you will move the pump power wires from the LOAD to the LINE screws.
