I need to increase our CYA level and was thinking about using Dichlor to do this (using pool math) since I have some on hand that is collecting dust in my garage. Before I add it to the pool, I have a few questions. 1. After adding it to the pool, how long does the pump need to run before I can shut it off for the evening? 2. Is it okay to just sprinkle it around the pool and brush afterwards or is it best to add it to a bucket of water and pour it around the pool? 3. After Dichlor is added, how long do you need to wait before adding any liquid chlorine to further increase the chlorine level?

1. Depends on how well the pump mixes. 30-60 minutes is generally okay.
2. I prefer to dissolve before adding. Always add chemicals to water, not the other way around. Even then you might still need to brush some undiscovered residue.
3. Same as 1.
