Can liquid chlorine be added into a pool after using dichlor to initially raise chlorine/CYA levels? Starting from a cloudy pool with no chemicals in it, we tested the alkalinity to be 100 then used muriatic acid to bring the pH down to 7.6. We then added dichlor to increase the chlorine/CYA (we had granular dichlor available, not solely CYA). Once the CYA is around 30-50, is it safe to switch to liquid chlorine to SLAM the pool? I’ve seen a lot of information online about the dangers of mixing dichlor and liquid chlorine, but that seems to direct more to mixing it in a bucket. We obviously won’t be mixing them together in a bucket, or storing them together, but once we add dichlor when is it safe to switch to liquid chlorine? Thank you!
