Inadequate Heating

Hi friends! I've been gone a long time. Moved out of state back to Washington and just got a used tub for the new house.

It's a 2000 Caldera Highland Portable that is in excellent condition as it's never seen the light of day.

Previous owner said it had not been run in awhile and that the pump had a small leak. Well the pump made a hum but wouldn't come on so I replaced it.
Works like a charm now, and the jets work as they should. But now I'm wondering about the heater. Tub has been up for 24 hours and my temp is only up to 87 degrees. I'm waiting for a new filter to arrive in a few days so there is no filter installed at this time. My son thinks that due to this fact, that water is moving quicker than the heater can heat it effectively. Could this be the reason or should I suspect now that the heater is on its way out?

Thanks in advance for your comments! It's GOOD to be back!

Greetings and welcome back.
Especially with a small portable, I would not necessarily be too concerned about it taking 24 hrs to get up to temp. My very old Jacuzzi will take more than a day after water change to get to 104 if my water starts in the 0s. It has no trouble keeping the water at 104.

So don't assume you have a problem unless it just doesn't GET to temp in the next day ;)
