We built a pool (details in sig) around 2011 and sold the house just a couple of years later. Our biggest regret since moving in to our new house is that we dont have a pool. I can actually see the community pool from my back yard, but definitely not the same.
I have talked to 3 local pool builders about ball park prices for a standard medium sized pool package. For a basic 16 x 32 pool with cartridge filter, regular white coping and broom finish concrete is 29k. That is without saltwater system. Medium size fiberglass starting around 45k, and a small gunite around 50. Again, those are starting prices....seem high? I'm sure I could get them a bit lower with specifics and actual estimates, but I was just a little shocked.
