👋

I am setting up my above ground pool and whilst going over everything I checked the bond plate and it appears to have melted off the end of the copper. The plate is inside the pool pump and the wire comes out the front and connects to the ground wire around the pool.
Slightly concerned. Should I be?
I am replacing it.

The pool is on a 15amp gfci.

I have hard water so would corrosion cause this to happen? It's #6 copper wire.
Lightning?
Short from the power?

Thanks
Nick

Welcome to TFP.

Show us pics of the actual problem.

I’ve seen liquified windings and melted terminal connectors due to over current issues, but have not seen this. I’d be interested to hear what @1poolman1 may have to say.

Once our insurance company said they would no longer cover liability issues with service on above-ground pools in the early 90s, I quit working on them. Have never seen or heard of that device, sorry.
