Greetings - My old AO Smith USQ UQC1152 motor went kaput, so I am replacing with Neptune NPTQ165. Pump is Pentair Ultraflow. Impeller is V38-126 - will that be usable with new motor? Or do I need to replace the impeller? And... anything else I should replace while I am at it? Thanks!

Old motor was 1.65THP. New motor is the same. The impeller you have is for a motor with 2.25 THP. That may be why the old motor failed.
You need the V38-124 impeller to be safe. Best price I've seen is at the site below. You are working on an obsolete pump, so it would be good to get what you need for it ASAP as they may not be available much longer. That was a very good pump, I sold many when it was an American Pool Products (bought by Pentair) pump.

Good to know about the voltage.

The pump is in good shape even though it is 15 yrs+ old.

Is the Intelliflo the same "footprint" as Ultraflow? Like does it just drop right into place? Or is there potentially a significant amount of new plumbing needed?

It looks like your pump is 238 mm to the center of the suction, which is about 6 mm higher than the center of the Intelliflo suction.

6 mm = 0.23622" (15/64").

Maybe get a piece of 1/4" (0.25") (6.35 mm) thick rubber sheet to put under the Intelliflo to give it the extra height.

The suction is the hardest part to line up.

The discharge will need to be replumbed as needed.

The IntelliFlo3 comes with unions built in.

The regular IntelliFlo does not come with unions and you should get high temp unions if you get a regular IntelliFlo.

Do you have Automation?

Can you show the current system?
