Casey do you know which toy it was like asked above? If it's small enough to make it through the 90s it could be stuck in the valve at the pad.

You might try feeding a snake through the pipe from the skimmer opening without powering it on, just to see how far it goes before it stops. If you can locate where in the pipe the toy is stuck you may be able to just cut and repair that section of pipe if you can't get it out.

Casey when I built our house in 1993 I ran new continuous poly line for my 4 wire 220 volt power for submersible well pump to our garage where new pressure tank and disconnect was located. I used shop vacuum to pull heavy nylon string to pull new pump wire. I tied a piece of foam to string and used shop vacuum to pull string about 200` to pull new wire maybe you could do this and attach like a fish tape with something a little smaller than the diameter of piping to pull the toy to your skimmer.

You could also if you have good home water pressure use this to blow blockage out.

It crossed my mind out in the yard, imagining it being hot and wanting to use the pool... cheap submersible pump might be a worthy purchase to mix the water and chlorinating liquid or dichlor or trichlor if you need stabiliser anyway is really handy. Good luck with it. Hope the pool stays useable for you. I always take the submersible pump out if anyone's swimming.

I assume you've probed softly with something to see if it's just in as far as the skimmer fittings?

I don't know where it is in the line. If I were a betting woman it may be as far as the slide. I'm going to have my brother buy tennis balls today and see if we can blow it out at 100psi with the air compressor like posted. I'm hopeful since it's a toy which could be a diving egg, a squoosh ball or a ping pong ball. Those are my guesses for the possible toys. I'm at work sitting here in parking lot. Just sent the link to my brother to read up on for when I get home.

I love those possible choices. Smooth, round and/or soft have the least chance of stabbing a 90 and being permanently lodged in there. It doesn't mean they have to come out, but the odds are better that it's possible.

It's almost to the equipment pad. We wrorked on it from 1600-2030. We bought a fish tape. It's helped some. My brother is going to welda washer onto the tip of the fish tape to give it surface area to push onto the blockage and not past it.

I believe that the big squishy ball is what's blocking it. The pic with the shovel and snake is where it's at. We can feel it right there.

I wonder if they make locking tops for the skimmer? That will keep anyone from taking the top off and removing the basket.
I'm seriously terrified by this dilemma. I have little one's that like to do these type of things and would love a safeguard.

I helped member with screws for inground skimmer plate cover earlier that used screws. I`m sure Casey will come up with an idea so this never happens again.

Actually mine already has those ready. Guess what I'm doing Monday after some more urgent stuff?

She did not go through the top. She stuck her arm into the skimmer while she was in the pool and lifted the basket.
