Imagine Illusion 40 Complete 10/19/21

Got hammered today for a $4k AC unit. The one here is 25 years old. I specifically remember telling my husband and the inspector it looked ancient but both said it was fine. Well... it's not.

I can't see how anyone can say a 25 year old AC unit can be fine for more than the next 5 minutes.

You knew it was coming you just didn't know when.

8th coldest state here and not even I would go without AC. Some people do around here but to me that makes for some miserable weeks. It’s not even the temperature most of the time; it can be 75 outside but when there’s 80% humidity it’s just gross.

I had to replace all my inside and outside and furnace at once, it REALLY sucks at 14k :brickwall:

I know your pain
I replaced the furnace in the other house 2 years before it burnt down. Now that was PAIN! I called them to see if I could still use it because it was brand new n they told me it took on too much water because it sat right under the living room where the fire started.

You are right. I saw that coming.

Leave me in a house all summer dealing with the stuff I do and working in a prison. I may as wear coco browns too.

Had a very difficult day at work yesterday. We lost a Brother. He wasnt much into 60 years old. I have watched him climb the ranks from a Correctional Officer to Sergeant and finally, a Lieutenant. I am sorely going to miss that man. His smile. His Laugh. His wisdom. His pure kindness to help everyone he had ever come into contact with. The Dirty South (south yard) will NEVER be the same. I will always remember him with a ton of love and respect.

RIP LT.

When a told a few inmates of mine, they were genuinely upset. Marcus was good to everybody. It did not matter what color they wore. I had an old head tell me he had to wait to break down once I closed this cell door. He was that kind of guy. He was SPECIAL.

Recieved a phone call from my building inspector. I have to fill out the paperwork and submit but he already gave me my permit number. He is leaving the permit open with not expiration date because of how the construction business is going with everything. I'll be sending ot off to him today with payment. I'm happy to check another thing off my list.

I texted my builder today to see how he's doing with getting things he needs in general on other builds? He said he's doing well. I told him our permits are nearly finalized. I can tell you all that I love how I can text him and he's very responsive to me. He texted me back within 5 minutes.

Im hoping that the Pool Gods are looking over me and MAYBE my pool will show up sooner rather than later. A girl can hope right?

Its been quiet over here because I've been locked up everyday at work trying to restore the budget over the fence. Overtime... Double time. I haven't had an off day in 6 weeks. They keep throwing money at me so I keep showing up. Calling for 20 COs every day on both 6-2 n 2-10. Mandating like crazy. I just stand there n fill my pockets. My guys ask me if I have a cell too?!

As far as I know, my pool is on schedule for September. Pool builder said his last 2 pools came in on schedule. He's working 7 days a week too. At this rate, my summer will be over n I'll be ready to install. Hopefully we'll not have another setback with manufacturing. Other than that... I'm just doing time with my guys til the end of August.

Working that much, remember to take a day break just to recharge yourself :)
Does an evening count as a day break? They are mandating like crazy! Needed 16 COs for tomorrow. I took one for double time on Wednesday.

Just got word today that the pool is pushed another 2 weeks, probably into October. Nothing I can do about it. Not even sure if I'm disappointed at this time. Told my pool builder I'm bracing for a spring install now. He said, you will have the pool this year. I dont even think it matters if it's this year or next year. October can be real iffy weather wise. I've lived here long enough to know that we can get snow and or rain in October or be in the high 70s. It's now an inevitable waiting game.
