Im at a loss.......?

So I have been doing SLAM on my new pool due to algae growth because i didnt get enough chlorine in it while they were doing dirt and concrete work......

So yesterday it was clear and yesterday evening it rained and alot of dirt git back into it. Ive vacuumed it yesterday and this afternoon when i got off work...added chlorine last night and now water dingy..not muddy but not clear. I can see main drains in bottom and test results this evening as follows from a TF-100 kit

FC-32
CC-0
TA-140
Salt level about 3400

Filter running 24/7. Ive vacuumed to waste to get dirt out this evening before testing.
I am planning on checking before sunrise to see if my chlorine drops but is there anything else I can do to get crystal clear water? I have company coming this weekend....

Tom

So this morning my FC dropped after i checked again late last night after kids dropped in more bleach it went up close to 42 so i get up this morning.....and
Pool clear YEAH.....FC levels dropped to 35 now CYA 70 (must have been error somewhere on the 50 reading)
So I will continue to monitor today and recheck tonight.....

So if its clear water and FC stays consistent then im done with slam correct

Okay so pool clear today.....chlorine dropped this morning and had to add some this afternoon when i was at work.....i come home and begin testing
FC 37
CC 2
CYA is 50....idk why the loss..i checked it 4 times from different locations in pool
pH 7.8 via color indicator
....uggggghhhh this is frustrating......

Tom it will come around! Take the small victories and keep fighting...

CYA is one of the hardest things to read and adjust so lots of patience needed.

Tom, don't add CYA during the slam. If you get a consistent result that is lower just adjust the slam FC target level accordingly. Retest CYA and adjust as needed after the slam is over.

Have you used the CYA standard that came with your TF-100 to verify your test methodology? I was having very inconsistent readings on my CYA level, then used the standard to hone my method. Try different lighting, vial positioning, etc... I found that I had to shake the R-0013 bottle before adding to the sample in order to get the desired reading when using the standard. Now I shake all my reagents before adding to the sample when testing my water.
