hey you,
I'm a single mom of 2, Emma 19 and Mathis 5. French living in Vegas and I'm about to start digging for a pool in my backyard. I got few quotations and for a simple rectangle 10 x 20 pool they are asking 40K starting price!!!. Lost my job, coronavirus is killing us and I have 22K in my savings to do my pool. That's all I can do. Pictures are here! My kids started digging..
Concrete fiberglass polymer .... working on it.

Because nothing beats an inground pool! I don't have any experience with fiberglass but I did build my own steel/ liner pool. I will say it was a major undertaking. I can put the most seasoned DIY person to shame but I found building my pool overwhelming. I had very tight site access and got a ton of rain during the build which didn't help. Hopefully you have some dedicated friends to help out. This site can also be s great source of information too.

I would say as a single mom with two kids and no job you should perhaps wait on a luxury item like a pool until you have some career and financial stability. Pools are money pits, building one is a gigantic money pit. Great to have a dream but savings are for saving not pools...
