The pool is full. Pump is on. Enough cya in to get it to 30 in a sock.

Water readings right after filled:
Ch 50
Alk 140
Ph 7.2
Cya assumed 30.

I put enough shock in to bring it to 14 or 15 for tonight, I will drop it down to 12 tomorrow.

We can swim while it's a 12 FC it sounds like.

Fc was at 13 when I woke up this morning and tested at 7am. I guess I should wait till things settle down before dealing with the alk and ch?

I wouldn't worry about the alkalinity just yet. You need some CH. Looking a LOT better now! May need an OCLT tonight.

9am still at 13 fc, it's nice to go two hours without putting a gallon of 12.5% in!!

Tested CC as well, 1 drop, so 0.5

He said it's still too cold to get in lol. Here is a pic of the filled pool. We still have to brush the walls.

It got cloudy fast. I can see bottom from middle. In shallow end/ like the step, it's super clear

I'm gonna keep slamming tomorrow and do the test tomorrow night. My cc is 0.5 and my water was clear so I was 2 of 3, but now down to 1 of 3

Ha! Better get that OCLT done tonight. Not unusual after a drain there's still some algae spores that germinate. Hit it hard with a SLAM if the OCLT confirms the need. What is your CC?

Maybe you can baby it along for a few days so the kids can swim then super slam it

Brush it really well and time it for when nobody will use the pool til the afternoon and hit it hard overnight amd let it burn of in the sun. Clean the filter really well soak it in tsp or a chlorine bath
