You always want a cell that is at least 2 x the volume of your pool, which is why I picked the IntelliChlor IC40.

We do not recommend any of iChlor models.
Jim,

Why is the iChlor not recommended? Asking because I thought I was getting an intellichlor, but of course the tech showed up on the day I was round trip to Houston. So I wasn't home.
He installed an iClhor 30. I've had a heck of a time getting this scheduled and installed, and is the company I've used for years, though after dealing with this tech in particular, I'm not exactly thrilled with them at this point.
I should have insisted on seeing the parts list for the quote. And it should have occurred to me to come and research on TFP before I pulled the trigger.

Well, at any rate, i have the iChlor, I have the Intellitouch 8 (not screen logic). Did I screw up?
(20,000 gallon pool).

I'm in Central Texas, have a limestone waterfall and pool decking.

Just came across this thread: SWG and Limestone Waterfall
That person is in my vicinity, so likely the same water hardness/etc. Guess I'll have more before/after photos of a SWG system to add to the data.

met,

We do not recommend the iChlor because we have seen more failures than with the IntelliChlor.

Also, we always recommend a SWCG that is at least 2 x the volume of your pool. A 20K pool needs a 40K cell.

There are plenty of iChlor SWCGs out there working just fine, so unless your pool builder told you they were installing a IntelliChlor, you are kind of stuck with what you have.

Assuming that you have no failures, the only downside is that you will have to run your cell longer and hard (higher output) to generate the amount of chlorine your pool will needs.

Thanks,

Jim R.
