Guys my water is too cold to run my salt cell but when it is turned on should I still have a salt reading and obviously the cold water shut off?

I swore I still got a reading last year in cold water but I might be wrong.

Thanks jim

I got a red cold water light. So that mean salt will come up zero on ScreenLogic? Last season I had readings till I shut it off. That I know.

So with a cold red water light I get no salt reading right?

Well, I just go by the salt test kit. I consider the device to be a liar (no matter what it says) since I only act on my own testing.

I also only believe my test kit but I also light to run the salt level as low to make the cell happy and if I don’t have a reading I can’t get a random idea of how much more to make it happy.

Jim,

The salt reading "zero" has nothing to do with the actual salt reading.. It is an often intermittent bug between the EasyTouch and Cell..

The cell will do NOTHING when the cold water light is on.. It will NOT run the salt tests.

It is useless to turn the cell on, if the water temp is below about 55 degrees. Until the water temp get to about 65 degrees, the salt reading is hit-or-miss. It can be way off when the water is that cold.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Yes I usually keep it off but they must have turned it on when they opened my pool and I missed it so I turned it off. I told them don't turn it on but the new "owner" said "oh keep it on". I said no and they still kept it on. it's off now like it should be. yes I knew it was hit or miss with readings when the water is colder. I do notice it getting closer and close r to the actual from my set as the wateriest warmer. I remember you teaching me that a few years back.

thanks for the help as always Jim!
