My IC-40 salt level is flashing green indicating high salt. I may have put too many bags in at pool opening.

Does this mean the SWG is not producing chlorine until it is solid green?

Is my only option to drain & add water to fix?

The IC40 will continue generating with high salt. It is a warning that the salt level is over 4500 ppm and can be corrosive to stuff around the pool.

Do you have a K-1766 Taylor Salt Test or test strips to test the actual salt level?

Only draining will lower your salt level.

Ok thanks for the reply. My only concern was if it was generating chlorine or not. I’m fine with higher salt. The kids splash enough water out for me to have to replace and eventually it will balance out. Just wanted to make sure there was chlorine being made.

As long as the CELL light turns green during the cycle it is generating. The CELL light will be on depending on your % generation setting during a 5 minute cycle.
