I recently installed an IQ900 antenna for my Aqualink RS. All of the lights are illuminated on the unit and i checked the router and it is connected and has an ip address. When i go to add my system in the app i type in the serial number and put in a name and it goes through then shows a red dot and it cannot connect. i’m stumped. I am pretty tech savvy and i can’t figure out if i’m not typing in the serial number right or if the Wi-Fi is not configured right. Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to TFP.

Why did you get the IQ900 antenna? There are three versions of iAQualink - an older version called iAqualink IQ900 and a version called iAqualink 2.0 or IQ-20, and a new for 2021 iAqualink 3.0. The new iAqualink 3.0 has a newer radio transceiver with all the same functionality of the 2.0 version but the website claims that the 3.0 version has better support for mesh WiFi routers as version 2.0 had some issues connecting to them. For most folks the 2.0 iAquaLink is fine.

What Rev level is your Aqualink RS board? You need at least Rev R for iAqualink.

Maybe @PoolGate @HermanTX @MSchutzer can help you get connected.

I returned the IQ900 and got the IQ20. my board is rev T.1 and now i’m getting a problem connecting error. i really hope it’s not the board because everything else is working fine. I might try a different communication port. the lights on the IQ20 are lit. i got it used and i reset and put in my wifi but still no luck. are the antennas still connected to the previous users account after reset?

The IQ20 seems a bit finicky connecting to wifi (to mine at least). It really needs a 2.4 GHz network. I have an AT&T router that by default tries to be smart about 2.4 vs. 5 GHz for the same network name. That confused my IQ20 no end. I was successful by setting up two networks with different names: one 2.4 GHz for the IQ20 and a couple of other 2.4-only devices I have and the other at 5 GHz.

As @ajw22 said, the IQ20 is also reported to be confused by mesh networks. Up-to-date services like Google Fiber are lately providing mesh-enabled routers by default.
