Hey couple of questions on an new pool with an iAquaLink 3.0, initially it was installed wirelessly, but I wanted the reliability of a wired connection so I added the wired link and threw the switch, worked great for about 3-4 weeks. Then it just stopped working, cable is good, switch is good, tried rebooting it a nothing - yellow light will flash about 6 times and then pause and repeat. Switched to wireless and it is working, but power light is off, but green and yellow lit and it is working. What’s up here? Any ideas

Also it looks like the connector in the iAquaLink is for a shielded cable connection - does the cat5 cable need to be shielded?

Thanks,

Ben

My guess is your antenna got zapped during a storm.

Cat 5 does not need to be shielded.

Try logging into your router to make sure the DHCP address space is not full. If you see that the IQ30 device allocated an address (or addresses for both wired and wifi), delete it/them and press the reset button so it will attempt to pull a new one.

Unfortunately or fortunately it's possible for an induced surge (e.g. due to lightning) to fry the wired interface while wifi continues to work. Rare, but not impossible.
