I think a frog went down my skimmer

I went to check my skimmer this morning and there was a frog in the basket. As I pulled the basket out , he/she jumped out and I couldnt find it anywhere so I think it went down my skimmer pipe. First I feel sorry for the poor frog but I am also concerned that it will get stuck in my pipe or in my filter.

What is the protocol on this? should I open my filter tomorrow and see if there is a frog in there?

I had that happen, I found him in my Pump basket.

I really doubt that the frog would get past the pump basket... that is where I would check first..

Highly doubtful it will get stuck in a pipe, if it did go down the pipe it will end up being caught in the pump basket.

Yes, you are right, I didn't think about that. It will definitely not get past the pump basket, I will check that tonight.

Yeap it will be in the basket since I just had the same thing happened. Started my pump for couple seconds until I saw the frog in the basket

Lucky me it was already dead before it got sucked in to my pipe.

Get him out of there ASAP. I can always tell if there is a dead lizard in a skimmer or the bottom of the pool because the FC is down and the CC is up. It doesn’t take very long for the FC to drop to dangerously low levels.
