Sadly, the title kind of says it all. I’ve been absolutely grinding away getting the pool setup for the year and am so close to all the chemicals being perfect and am finally achieving normal chlorine consumption.
When I went down to grill last night I noticed the level has dropped probably 2.5 to 3 inches since adding 1500 gallons a week ago. Suffice it to say, it was pretty gutting to see. Air was being blown out if my return jets. I immediately shut the heater off and the air bubbles went away. 10 minutes later I shut the pump down.
Here’s what I do know:
The light has water intrusion. A new light is on order. I was hoping to replace it without draining the pool below the niche but and thinking I will drain the pool below level to be able to best inspect the niche and make any repairs needed.
The seams between my fiberglass panels are showing rust stains. I have a leak detection kit showing up today and am wondering if those are leak points? If so I'm on deck for at the least a partial drain to address that. Vulkem seem to be well regarded for these repairs on previous threads I’ve read, is that still the preferred product? I would re-seal both the panels and where the panels meet the concrete should I take in that repair.
The plaster itself has seen better days but I know the best long term fix is a new pool, so I’d rather not re plaster for now. I have no visible cracks in my concrete, just plaster failure in parts.
