How I ended up with a 40' x 20' x 48" hole in my backyard, which happens to be 10% dirt, 20% loose rock and 70% one big solid chunk of limestone that took a guy on a case 580 with a rock hammer a week to bust out. I tried to post pictures but something in my cell is screwed up.
Ordered a 16' x 32' from pool warehouse on the 5th. They said 2 to 3 weeks for delivery, looks like that will double due to delivery/worker shortages, so while I'm waiting my two sons and I have been doing a lot of concrete work.
A 16' x 5' equipment pad/change room (in the past my grandkids would get out of the above grounds we've had in the past and go into a very cold A/C house and do the shiver/blue lip routine + leave wet stuff all over). Since a rock hole had to be overdug and the pool kit has a tapered bottom for depth greater then the 48" panels, we poured a perimeter level band for the panels to sit on.
The best thing I've found for info is this web site. My knowledge of a properly maintained pool might fill a shot glass, so I'm on this site daily getting an education.
