I currently have the Aquarite tcell 15 SWG setup on my 28x14 inground pool, about 15k gallons and am running a 1HP single sleep hayward super pump with 1.5 inch piping, with intermatic manual timer. I wanted to purchase a variable speed pump for this summer. My question is i see the variable speed pumps i am choosing between
Pentair 342001 SuperFlo VS Variable Speed Pool Pump, 1 1/2 Horsepower and the Hayward SP2303VSP MaxFlo VS Variable-Speed Pool Pump both have built in timers to turn on the pump. How can I go about turning on the SWG at the same time?

Should I simply just set the manual timer to start a few minutes after the pump starts? Is there some other way this is possible without buying the automation equipment? Should I buy a new pool timer that is digital like the Intermatic EH40 which will let me control more to the minute?

I am just looking for advice on how to make the aquarite tcell 15 swg work with a variable speed pump. Also, is there a specific variable speed pump that anyone would recommend?

GC,

Welcome to TFP... A great place to find the answers to all your pump upgrade questions... :shark:

The simplest thing to do is use the timer you already have... When you install your new VS pump, wire it to the "Line" side of the timer connections and leave your SWCG wired to the "Load" side of the timer connections. This will provide constant power to the pump, while still controlling the SWCG.

I vote for using Pentair pumps, but that is because that is what I have and they work well for me..

Thanks for posting,
