How to drain a pool after heavy rains?

I have:
1. An overflow drain that will drain water to the deck drains and eventually to the yard/street that keeps the pool from overflowing
2. A backwash pipe that leads from my filter to the sewer. This is mainly used for backwashing, but you can also use it to drain water if you are anticipating a large storm.

I guess I also have a 3rd option as there is a hose bib like connector at the equipment pad where I could hook up a hose and drain water that way. I'm not sure why I would ever use this above the other 2, but I guess I could.
