5 pounds on a fresh fill
4 pounds after a backwash

2 coffee cans worth = 1 pound
Actual Scooper = 1 pound

OK I somehow read right past the "backwashing".
I add 4.8 lbs after cleaning and reinstalling the grids.
I don't backwash but I think the info is in the link I provided above.
