How long to run the chlorinator every day

I was told that I need to inspect and clean my cell with 20% muriatic acid and 80% water solution after every 500 hours of use. And that my salt system will have a inspect cell warning light pop up. My pump runs 24/7 from April to October. So this way, I hit 500 hours just after 20 days. So should I only run the chlorinator for 8 hours a day but at a higher chlorine percentage or 24 hours a day at a lower chlorine percentage. I'm not sure if the chlorinator can be put on a timer, I'll have to check on that.

IF your salt cell *needs* cleaning, always try plain hose water first.
My first cell lasted over 9 years and never once did it need cleaning.
Each time you clean the cell, you remove some of the precious metals that make the magic happen, and that shortens the lifespan of your cell.
