How long does baking soda take to fully dissolve?

I cannot get the strap back on. The top half of the case wouldn't seat on the o-ring.
It can be a little challenging. I have the same filter, so I can tell you how I do it.

Before reassembly, make sure the bottom manifold o-ring is properly seated. Make sure you put the air relief screen on the center pipe before reinstalling the upper manifold. This is a common area for leaks if not installed properly.

Before installing the top half, make sure all parts are clean. I use a little bit of dish soap on the O-ring/seal and put it in place. The top half won't automatically drop into position. You'll have to install the band clamp and begin to tighten it. As you do, use a rubber mallet and tap the band clamp around the perimeter of the filter as you tighten the nut. Continue to do this several times until the spring on the band clamp nut is compressed.

Earlier in this thread you had mentioned you add cups of DE into the skimmer. This is asking for trouble - clumps of DE can clog the suction pipe and the pump. The right way is to premix DE with water to a thin slurry and pour it slowly into the skimmer while the pump is running.

I've read two schools of thoughts on here about both ways. Is there a way to check for restriction?

What I'm also not understanding is that the air relief screen has threads but the PVC pipe it fits onto does not.

OK, I took it apart again and reseated everything and it was much easier to get the clamp to go on as the lid was much closer to the bottom bin/o-ring.

Will monitor if DE is still getting to the returns.

OK, it has been two days with a clean filter and the DE in the pool isn't going away. Is the expectation that brushing to the drain should reduce it or is it still leaking into the pool?
