How long do we wait to swim after adding chemicals?

Hello,

New pool owner here. Anxious kids wanting to get in the water! What is the general rule of thumb for waiting time after adding chemicals?

I've got shock down (using liquid shock, add it at night so it has plenty of time to turn over)

What about Conditioner/Stabilizer - the chemical that increases CYA?
