How high should water be?

We’ve lost a little water, hoping just by using and the sun. How high should we refill it to, based on this picture? Assuming it needs to be higher due to the skimmer.

Normally, you want to be right in the middle of the skimmer's mouth...

Plus about 1" and minus about 2"..

Thank you! It’s normal to lose a little water as people are swimming, etc., right?

An inch of water in YOUR pool is about 300 gallons. I would not expect that loss from a day of swimming.
How long did it take to drop?

I’m not sure. I only noticed because we are having staining from liquid stabilizer that we put in so I can see the steps in a way I couldn’t before. I don’t think it’s down much at all but a little.

Any advice on the white chalky marks from the stabilizer?

Raise your water, allow it to cover it for a a couple days, may dissolve, then brush.
