Total noob question - whats the best way to get chlorine out of a large 5 gallon bucket? I've been buying 12.5% chlorine from the pool store which is available in 2.5 or 5 gallon tubs, both of which are too heavy and awkward to lift and pour. To measure out the 50 or 60 ounces I use each day I've been using a plastic bilge pump I found in the garage which I am sure will break any day from the chlorine exposure. I plan on hooking up a stenner next summer but for now it is all manual. Any suggestions as to the best way to do this when my bilge pump breaks?

To empty my 5 gallon carboys into the stenner tank, I use one of these shake siphons.
For your situation, I wonder if emptying car boys into 10 gallon water jug with a spout would do the trick (clearly marked with the words BLEACH to prevent any disastrous beverage selection mistakes)

I used to buy chlorine in 5 gallon jugs until I found that you can buy 12.5% liquid chlorine in 1 gallon bottles for as little as $3/gallon. Try B's or Ocean State Job Lot if they are in your area.

Quick follow up on this post. I recently tried a new siphon system (used copper safety siphons on vinyl tube for the past year.)
I’m fairly pleased with my first use of this unit. I cut the draw pipe down to size. It easily starts the siphon with the pump on top, and the pump helps suck out all but the last few drops from the carboy. I bought 1 for $24 but it looks like you can get 2 for $32 on amazon.
I like this solution better than the safety siphons because the copper head keeps corroding from the bleach and losing flecks into the Stenner tank. Those flecks end up getting sucked into the pump and into the pool where they stain and have to be acid burned off the plaster. This unit is all plastic.
