Our current cya level is 80. We already did a big drain this season and are on well so I am going to let it go down naturally over the summer. How do I know if a chemical has stabilizer in it? I have some chemicals from last year that I would like to use up as long as they are not going to add stabilizer and obviously only if I need them.

Bio guard lo'n slo (ph and alkalinity reducer)
Bio guard Algae all 60 (not sure if I will use this, but we currently have a lot of organic material going in the pool from gyspy moths)
Bio guard sparkle up (removes copper so no need right now)
Bio guard balance pak 100 (alkalinity increase (no need right now. I need mine to go down some more)
Refresh + (shock)

Also, do I have my gallons of water estimated incorrect? I added the amount of liquid chlorine that was suggested in the app and it didn't raise my chlorine levels much. I was supposed to be going from 4.5 to 9 and it only went to 6.5. I am using 12.5% and the expiration date isn't until 2025. I tested the chlorine a hour after adding and again this moring and it was the same.

24' round with 52" sides. We have a ledge (approximately 1 ft wide it is uneven from some of the sand collapsing when we filled the pool. The company sold us play sand instead of pool sand) around the perimeter, the ledge is larger in one area to accommodate steps, and dug the rest down about 8" . I have it estimated at 14,000 gallons.

What are the ingredients listed in the refresh+ ?
The others don’t contain cya.
I’m coming up with approximately 13,500 gal

Wow the pool store loves you!
They are chemicals that been acquired over a period of 3 years. All of them are only partials. I'm pretty sure some of them are from when we initially installed the pool and all the levels were low and we had metals from our well water. I now run a filter on my hose and I am done with the pool store.

It is likely that there is salt in the water. We have a whole house water softener and we forgot to turn it off when emptied to half and refilled. Not sure if that makes a difference. Yes, the soft water goes outside. The shut off value to outside is somewhere behind dry wall, but we have no clue where.

There is for sure salt in the water. Almost everything you add also adds salt.

I only have one bag of this left over from last year. I came up with the same number you did, but I upped it 500 gallons because it always seemed like I needed to add more than what I was told when I was following the pool store.

A water softener in proper working order is not going to add enough salt to your pool to matter.

It doesn't even add enough salt to tap water that any but the most sodium-sensitive blood-pressure patients have to worry about drinking it. It's truly miniscule.

It is low. CH is at 60
That's fine, assuming the other ingredients are inert fillers.

Liquid chlorine loses potency over time, and sooner than we'd like. Your volume could be spot on and your liquid chlorine might just have gotten weaker. All you can really do about that is to buy as fresh as you can and store it in a cool, dark place.

Add whatever it takes to keep it in range.
