I’ve had water in my new pool about 45 days now. SWG is humming along. I think everything looks good. My only issue is negative CSI. Here are my numbers:
FC: 7
CC: 0
PH: 7.8
TA: 70
CH: 300
CYA: 70
Salt: 3400
Temp: 73
CSI: -.24
I know that a CSI of -.24 is ok, but in order to stay above -.30, the lowest my PH can go is 7.8. That doesn’t leave much wiggle room before it’s over 8.
So, which method is better:
1) Wait until my PH is 8.2, then bump to 7.6. At 7.6, my CSI is -.43, but it will gradually rise up.
2) Bring TA and/or CH up to give me a larger acceptable PH range.
3) Something else?
My fill water is:
PH: 9.5 (according to the City, my test stops at 8.2)
TA: 60
CH: 80
Thanks for your help!
