Hot tub spill over tile work

First time i have had a pool built. Our contractor has been awesome. the tile work was being worked on this week. the amount of grout on this hot tub spill over seems wrong. it looks horrible to me and with this much grout i feel like it will deteriorate and cause issues before long.

Is this normal?

Hi and welcome to TFP! Sorry to be meeting this way Yeah that grout job is a big, fat no just like that is a big, fat glob of grout Someone did not plan ahead so had to end it somehow so they globbed grout there=NOPE!

If they had planned ahead aka put the tiles on dry to see how they fit, they could have made a thinner row in the middle so the the tiles would have gone all the way to the end/edge.
