Hose keeps popping off when pump runs on high

Hello,

New to the above ground pool thing. Had the pool installed late last year.

Its an above ground 12x24 The pump is a 2 speed or stage pump. Can run on low or high.

The issue Im having is whenever the pump runs on high it keep blowing the hose off where it is connected on the egress of the cartridge filter.

The fitting is a tapered fitting that really is not holding.. Looks like this - tapered fitting

I have been running the pump on low for a good 10hrs a day... but it just does not seem to get the pool clean as if the pump was running on high.

I was thinking of getting one of these - fitting with hose barb

Has anyone had this issue and would this type of fitting work?

Any information would be helpful.

Thanks!

Hose barb is better. There may be too much restriction in the chlorinator or that valve may not be completely open. If you are going to use tablets, it is better to get rid of the chlorinator and use a floating dispenser.

Thanks for the replies.

Ok I ordered the hose barb. Yeah not sure if the chlorinator is working all the great. Ill take a look to see and open all the way to see if that helps too. Or look into the floating ones.

For the hose clamp - Yeah I have one on there and I keep tightening it(im surprised it hasent broke yet) but it seems to continue to slide down the taper of the fitting then eventually pop off.. Was thinking of using two clamps but I just went ahead and purchased the barbed one.

Thanks all.. will let you know if that holds up.

Thanks!
