That plaster looks awfully stained. Was this pool closed over winter?

No but it seemed to stain more and more over the years.

Ok. That’s not a good sign. Plaster shouldn’t stain like that at all unless there’s metals being introduced into the water or there is calcium scaling due to high saturation index. You can test the stains to see what they are -

My plaster is 9 years old. I ordered a new test kit. I will post results when it comes in.
