High Ph will not budge

Hi everyone,
My pool cover came off three weeks ago, but couldn’t run the pump because I had to replace the motor. As a result, my pool is a green swamp. I have been trying to balance the pool so that I can start the SLAM process. My PH has been up through the roof. I have tried to adjust it with no results. So far I have been through 2 gallons of Muriatic Acid and 6 pounds of dry acid to no avail. Before adjusting the PH I adjusted my alkalinity from 50 to 90. In the process of trying to bring my PH down, My TA went back down to 50 again, but nothing happened with PH.
I’m afraid I won’t be successful using SLAM method without first managing the PH.
This is frustrating. I don’t know how to proceed. 2 gallons of MA and 6 pounds of dry acid and I’m still back to square one. Any help is appreciated.

Are you sure that you are using the correct pool volume and chemical strengths in your calculations?
The high point of the test in the Taylor kits is 8.2. Any value above 8.2 will still read 8.2. It’s possible that your numbers were higher and you’ve not yet added enough MA to get the number below 8.2

I used the 20 % Baume. I used the pool calculator to get the right amount. The question is will I be able to SLAM with such a high PH. All the other chemicals are balanced.
or should I continue to address the high PH before SLAM. Pool is dark green swamp.
Any help is appreciated.

What you have added would drop your pH by over 3.5 points and your TA by over 60 ppm.

Be absolutely sure you are using the correct reagents for your pH test.

Test the pH of your tap water.

We recommend to lower the pH before a SLAM as you cannot test pH accurately with FC above 10 ppm.

Once you achieve water clarity, a high pH would be bothersome to any swimmers. Primarily their eyes and skin.

You should be able to drop the pH into the 7's.

Please check your reagents. There are different reagents for different test blocks.
