High chlorine consumption (3 - 3.5 ppm a day)

Fellow Tulsan. Is the Atwoods bleach 10%? I bought mine from Lowes this year for opening, their 10% LQ is $3.86/gallon.

atwood’s is 10% (when it’s not old) i used all last year and it was $8.99 for a 4 gallon case

Yes it is 10%. It costs $2 a gallon at Atwoods on sale.

Chlorine is good this time. Water clear.
OCLT passed.
CYA 40.

TA - 80
CH - 200
pH - 7.6
CC - 0.5

What should I check? So confused.
Should I increase the CYA? It was 50 last year.

Mid west particularly OK state folks, what is your cya level?

my cya is in the 50-60 range. my fc loss is 1.5 on sunny days. it won’t get to 3.5 until it’s hot

3-4 weeks ago it was 40. No significant water change since then, so I assume it is still at 40.

Chlorine consumption is at 3.5 ppm a day. Water temperature is 68.

Tested CYA. Dot visibile at 40. Gone at 30. I would say it was visibile around 35 as well. This is the test I hate . So subjective.

So should I keep it as 40 or 30? Should I increase the CYA?

You round up and call your CYA 40. You can add 10 ppm more stabilizer.

Adding 24oz by volume of PoolTime stabilizer. (Poolmath said 35oz by volume). Will test in a few days and see. Thanks.
