so I will keep the bleach at shock level
Your FC should've been dosed immediately back to 12 ppm or so minutes after you got the test result of 1 ppm.

KEEP THE CHLORINE AT SHOCK VALUE and your pool will clear much faster. (sorry to sound like a bully but it is very important)

I understand. :)
I know it seems late in the day to be testing the pool, but I am a night dweller by nature. So the last time I checked and added bleach was at 4 a.m. I checked it again at 10:30 a.m. (I gotta sleep sometime  ) I cleaned the filter, added 2 gallons of bleach and will continue testing every hour, adding bleach as needed.

I HAVE A BLUE POOL AGAIN!!! :whoot:

This mornings test results:
FAC 5+
TAC 5+
CH 600
CYA 30
TA 110
pH 7.2

The water is clear, but there's a little bit of sediment on the floor of the pool. I was planning on bringing the bleach back up to shock levels one last time, brushing the pool, while allowing the pump to continue running for the rest of today and tonight. Right?
Still waiting on the test kit and carts.

I appreciate all the help and advice you all have given me.
I'm so excited that I'll be able to use my pool this weekend!
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
