Hi everyone! I wish there was a forum like this but JUST for hot tubs. It’s been a little difficult finding straight forward info about hot tub maintenance. Going on 2.5 yrs of spa ownership and have only used the frog@ease system. I’ve learned a lot about pool/spa chemicals and feel like I have a decent grasp on maintaining our 395 Gal spa. However, the frog@ease is ridiculously expense and I’m looking to make the switch to using chlorine instead of frog@ease system. Although I really don’t like the idea of having to continuously add chemicals EVERY day. Wondering if I should just stick with the frog or try and make the switch to something else. Any info would be appreciated.

**recently go back from a short trip (knowing my chlorine cartridge was almost done, but I thought it could last a few more days) and found nasty, dirty, slinky, slimy water. Alkalinity & PH looked okay, so I superchlorinated it to try and kill some of the crud before I had time to do anything else.

I may either try and maintain that or I will purge the lines, drain and start fresh since I am almost coming up on 3 months (I usually do 4 months).

Would love to hear opinions on frog@ease vs any other viable option. Thanks and I look forward to being a part of the forum!
