New to the forum, thanks, guys. First in ground pool built in 2014. Relatively maintenance free with screen house and Pentair salt system. Recently the control panel on the VS3050 has started to be unresponsive and a few days ago the pump stopped reporting a power fail error.

I’m an experienced electrical engineer so dig in and found power to the pump fine. Started to investigate online and found many unhappy folks with Pentair’s foolish non-DYI repair design policy and crazy pricing.

Ordered a replacement pump from California at a not too crazy price. Found you folks while searching for data. Good site!

Hopefully will get the new one installed next week so can get back to my other project: renovating an Asian style beach condo in Cocoa Beach!

Between furnace parts rusting, filter gaskets wearing out, pump housing paint flaking off, plastic parts getting brittle.... you’d think the pool industry wants to force us to replace things every five or six years!
