So my fiancé and i live in the country and we put a tarp over our pool. Today we were taking the tarp off the pool and notice that their was a dead cat in the pool and we dont now how long it has been in there but when we took it out of the pool the hair was coming off and it was decaying so after we buried it we were wondering what we should do to the pool. is it ok to swim in? what should we do???

Welcome to the forum,

Sorry it's under these circumstances but we can help. No, I would not suggest a swim until you have shocked the pool. We call it a SLAM process where the Chlorine is elevated for an extended period of time.

How do you normally care for the pool chemical wise?
