Help with slightly cloudy water

Hi all,

Our chlorine got a bit low for a day and we had a bit of algae form. It wasn't very much at all and majority of it was dead on the bottom. I followed the SLAM method and did another FC loss test last night and it only dropped .5 in about 6 hours.

Water is still slightly cloudy. Just finished a test today with the TF-100. Here are my results.

  • FC - 5
  • CC - .5
  • TC - 5.5
  • pH - 7.7
  • TA - 140
  • CH - 200
  • CYA - ~15 (working on getting this up to 30-40)
My TA was a bit high, and I didn't know if this would be contributing to the cloudiness. CH is a bit low, but from my understanding this is ok with a vinyl pool.

Thanks in advance.

Cloudy water just means stay in the SLAM process. You cannot test a CYA of 15 so get some stabilizer added soon. Your FC is being consumed by the sun!
