Help with SLAM

@KristaM78 Been watching your logs. Looks like you are not testing FC and CC, or maybe not logging your testing before every add? If you log those in addition to the chemicals, it will help us get a sense of where you are at in the process....e.g. your FC drop will be less and your CC will drop when you are getting close to the end.

Hi. I am testing FC and CC and have logged all of them before each addition. I’m not sure why you can’t see them.

Hi. I am testing FC and CC and have logged all of them before each addition. I’m not sure why you can’t see them. Oh. I did not post this morning yet. I will do that. I’m dealing with another issue. Woke up to a low low no flow alert. So now screwing around with that. Having to crank my pump to 2600 rpm to register flow.

Getting there!!! Let's stick with LC. When you get an FC result >=3ppm after 30 minutes, go back to this process:

Do you have Stabilizer? If not, you might want to pick some up on the way home along with more LC/Bleach.

Congrats on the progress....

I plan to stop on my way home for LC, the ammonia test and stabilizer. Stay tuned! My phosphate test arrived today too.

Don’t open the ammonia or phosphate tests. You really don’t need them. I would return them and get your money back. You have already seen the improvement, no need to test for ammonia. Phosphates aren’t an issue.

Ok. Here’s where I met this evening. I did add 4 ounces of super soluble this morning because I was out of liquid chlorine and without having any stabilizer I did not wanna be without any chlorine in my pool today.

I just made an addition I will check after dinner if all looks well I plan to add some stabilizer. I’m also adding a picture after I clean my filter and turned my pump on a ton of white Crud came out of my jets which I think is phosphates from the phosphate remover I put in a couple days ago. I’m assuming that I should see improvement in my cloudiness every day?

Let’s make sure you meet ammonia exit criteria. Add LC to get to 10, wait 30 min. If FC is > 3, THEN stabilizer. If <3 keep going with ammonia protocol. Let’s make sure we do this right first time.

Let’s avoid phosphate removers or any other pool store chems, they typically just create problems. Chlorine, Muriatic Acid and stabilizer ONLY for now.

Yep should get better. Look forward to see test results! Then we’ll get our slam on…

Ok. Latest results. Will proceed with SLAM.

I might’ve saw your post a little bit too late I did not add any stabilizer but I have been adding chlorine to start slam did I do this wrong?

You are fine. We just need a baseline FC at 10 to start the ammonia test.

Test FC now. If at 10, wait 30 minutes, retest, see if you are at 4+.

If not wait 15 minutes test again. If at 10 start then. If below 10, add enough to get to 10 and start your 30 minutes.

You are really close.
